Internal Medicine
I chose to become a doctor because I am interested in helping people discover and understand ways in which they can improve their health. I believe in the importance of getting to know patients and understanding their needs and concerns to help foster relationships and encourage dialogue to improve and support overall health. I am specifically interested in pediatrics and primary care because of the relationships formed over time, and I particularly enjoy having the privilege of caring for the entire family. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, volunteering in the community, traveling, and reading.
An internist or Internal Medicine doctor is someone who specializes in diagnosing and treating illnesses, diseases, and health problems. Most internists are also primary care doctors and treat patients on a regular basis. They can diagnose and treat common illnesses or more serious problems. Most people see an internist regularly. Those with chronic illnesses may do so on a monthly or even weekly basis. Internists are the most common types of doctors.
