Overview

At age 23 Dr. Sokol graduated in the top 20% of the class of 1983 from the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. After authoring a book chapter, publishing several academic articles, and teaching medical students, Dr. Sokol completed a DUAL residency in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry from Brown University. As a commissioned officer in the United States Army, Dr. Sokol completed a fellowship in endocrinology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, taught at the Uniformed University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD, and served as Assistant Chief and then Chief of Endocrinology at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center with the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Sokol joined the Statland Clinic in 1993 board certified in Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, and Endocrinology where he continues to practice Endocrinology. He has added board certifications in Diabetes Education and Bone Densitometry/Osteoporosis. He is one of less than 100 physicians in the United States (as of 2004) to have Masters Qualifications in Psychopharmacology. Dr. Sokol continues to teach residents and serves as Chairman of Medical Education at Menorah Medical Center. Dr. Sokol has been nominated by the physicians in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area as a "Kansas City Super Doctor" for several years. He is affiliated with Menorah Medical Center.
