Atrium Health Pineville is a 235-bed acute care facility located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Hospital was opened in 1987 by the Sisters of Mercy to serve the rapidly growing southern part of Mecklenburg County. in 1995, the Sisters of Mercy sold the hospital to Carolinas HealthCare System, now Atrium Health.

Cannot be trusted. If the patient is on Medicare, anything performed must be approved BEFORE it is performed. They do NOT adhere to their contract with Medicare and just charge the patient afterwards for anything that wasn't approved. You are only made aware of this when you receive their Billing Statement.

My 83 year old mother was takin to this ER due to symptoms of a possible blood clot to her leg... she had to go in by herself due to Covid restrictions.. she sat unattended for 12 1/2 hours.. one lady came out of the back ripping the IV out of her arm.. an angry man through his chair.. one elderly patient was slumped over unresponsive as the police security officers quickly rushed her to the back.. not knowing whether she died waiting. My mother managed to get in at 3am.. never saw a physician only a Physician Assistant.. never checked for blood clot.. gave her a script for antibiotic and was out in 20 minutes..my mother was crying from overall lethargic and thirst... I would have pulled her out sooner but was told other ERs were just as bad.. it being the holiday weekend. I was a past employee of this hospital.. this is embarrassing and I could not believe how much it had changed since it became Atrium.. do not go to this ER if you love the one who needs help..this was a three ring circus.. and I'm so sick of hearing that Covid is all they are concerned about.. other health issues should be properly addressed!
