My wife had a depression attack Monday night at work and ended up taking an ambulance ride to the ER. She talked to a teledoc eventually for a brief time then the teledoc said that she had to go. Either the teledoc or an ER doc, who also only had a brief conversation with my wife signed a petition to keep her there for 72 hours. During that time she was supposed to talk to someone to start getting help. She has now been there 3 days and she has not talked to anyone who as any authority to do anything. She has talked to nurses and others who agree that she does not need to stay there, but she is being kept there against her will and she is getting really upset. you don't take someone with depression and lock them up in isolation. And they won't even talk to her to see that she is ok now and that she should be able to leave with maybe some low grade anti-depressant and a follow up with a phycologist or something. I have called a lawyer to see if I can get a case for medical neglect.
