Dr. Tate is originally from Colorado and is very familiar with the Western Slope. He is ecstatic to join a cardiovascular team with the shared vision of providing excellent cardiac care to all members of the community. Dr. Tate became acquainted with heart rhythm disorders in high school when his mother developed atrial fibrillation. He learned first-hand how incapacitating and unpredictable arrhythmias are and developed a keen interest in the compassionate treatment of patients with rhythm disorders.Dr. Tate completed his Bachelor of Science degree at Regis University in Denver, double majoring in Biology and Chemistry, and earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Colorado. He subsequently completed his residency at Brown University, where he spent an extra year teaching in the role of Chief Resident. He reacquainted with the University of Colorado for a fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine. Subsequently, he completed his fellowship training in cardiac electrophysiology at the University of California San Diego where he was ultimately hired on as faculty, to teach and train electrophysiology fellows. Dr. Tate comes to Grand Junction with 17 years of experience as a board certified electrophysiologist, most recently serving as medical director of electrophysiology at Intermountain Healthcare in St. George for the last 8 years.
