There is a calmness and easiness about him that transfers when you speak with him. We were very afraid going to see him based on everything we had read about pancreatic cancer. He made the process simple and understandable. He thoroughly went through every option, alternative, risk and benefit and empowered us to make the right decision for me. very grateful for that. He is honestly one of the best doctors I have ever been to, he really cares about the whole person and their family. Dr. Shaw removed cancer from part of my pancreas and spleen. There was a very small incisions, in the hospital for just a few days, recovered quickly. He was a gentlemen, checked on me every day multiple times, had a high quality team, honest, witty, great surgeon. I am really happy I went to Dr. Shaw. My oncologist and gastro doc both said he is the best around and he did not disappoint.
