Online Tools to Grow Your Dental Practice

Digital Marketing Tools for Dentists

We live in a digital age, and the options for expanding your dental practice are endless! There are thousands of online marketing tools available (many FREE) all with the same goal in mind—to bring in more patients. This post will highlight our four favorite sources and how you can get started using them today!

Harness the Power of Social Media

It’s not just for your teenager anymore! A strong social media presence is a must for any business, and social media outreach is especially effective in the medical industry, including dental practices. To get started, set up accounts on Facebook, Twitter, HealthSoul, and YouTube, and update them regularly with valuable content that will interest your followers. Many practices overthink the type of content to share with their followers. Building a strategy is a good idea for the long-run, but try not to overwhelm yourself and get stifled. To begin you can simply post things that relate to your practice. Are you running a new special package for teeth whitening? Post about it. Did you come across an interesting article about plaque defense? Post it. The key is to post enough consistently good content, so your brand is always at the forefront of your customer’s social media feeds without overdoing it. This takes some experimenting, but a good rule of thumb is to post at least once a day across all social media platforms.

Build Your Online Reputation

Before someone decides which TV or car to buy, they look for reviews online. Reviews aren’t solely intended for big purchases anymore. In fact, people are searching for and reading reviews for just about everything these days, including dental practices! We’ll discuss this topic more thoroughly in a future blog post, but a tremendous step towards expanding your practice is to encourage your patients to leave (hopefully positive) reviews about your services for others to see. Building a good reputation will bring more people in the door, and the best part is it can be entirely FREE if you provide excellent dental services.

Optimize Your Website

Your website should be a natural, digital extension of your practice. If it doesn’t put your best side forward, or if you don’t even have a website, you’re bound to stay stagnant. Luckily, building a great site doesn’t require much computer knowledge, and even the least technologically-savvy can put together a website in a day using one of the many services online. Once your website is in place, it’s time to focus on Search Engine Optimization more commonly referred to as SEO. The primary goal of SEO is to get your website ranked on search results. You can accomplish this by putting specific keywords throughout your site and having your website linked to across the Internet. A great way to quickly boost your SEO is to create a weekly blog post about industry-relevant content.

Make Your Own Videos

Did you know that YouTube is one of the largest search engines online? People love watching videos about almost anything. Posting relevant advertisements, and informative videos about your practice is an easy way to gain more exposure. It’s free to post a video, but there are paid options available to turn your video into an ad that will play before other relevant dental videos. Hopefully, you’ve found these tools useful and will give them a try in the future. We live in a digital age, so modernize your dental practice for the future!
