The Oriental Insurance Company Ltd. was incorporated at Mumbai on 12th September 1947. The Company was a wholly owned subsidiary of The Oriental Government Security Life Assurance Company Ltd and was formed to carry out General Insurance business. The Company was a subsidiary of Life Insurance Corporation of India from 1956 to 1973 ( till the General Insurance Business was nationalized in the country). In 2003 all shares of our Company held by the General Insurance Corporation of India were transferred to the Central Government.
The Company is a pioneer in laying down systems for smooth and orderly conduct of the business. The strength of the Company lies in its highly trained and motivated work force that covers various disciplines and has vast expertise. Oriental specializes in devising special covers for large projects like power plants, petrochemical, steel and chemical plants. The Company has developed various types of insurance covers to cater to the needs of both the urban and rural population of India. The Company has a technically qualified and competent team of professionals to render the best customer service.
Oriental Insurance made a modest beginning with a first year premium of Rs.99,946 in 1950. The goal of the Company was “Service to clients” and achievement thereof was helped by the strong traditions built up overtime.
ORIENTAL with its Head Office at New Delhi has 30 Regional Offices and nearly 1800+ operating offices in various cities of the country. The Company has overseas operations in Nepal, Kuwait and Dubai and has a total strength of around 13500 employees. From less than a lakh at its inception, the gross premium went up to Rs.58 crores in 1973 and at the end of the year 2017-18 the premium figure stood at Rs.11452 crores.
I have a health insurance with Oriental Insurance from last 1 year, i am not aware of the premium amount as my company pays it. I am happy with the coverage value of this insurance policy and they cover Rs 3 lakhs. I have no claim experience so far with this insurance.

I have my health insured with Oriental Insurance from last 2 years, i am not aware of the premium amount as my company pays it. I have a coverage of Rs 2.5 lakhs for this insurance. My claim experience was good as they covered 85% and it was a cashless treatment.

I hold the health insurance policy from the ORIENTAL INSURANCE company for the past 1 years. This policy covers only one member which is myself. This policy has the medical coverage up to Rs,500,000. The cashless treatment is available with the ORIENTAL INSURANCE health policy.

Oriential insurance company general insurance autherised b the indian government . my father is an agent in this company . the working and the process is good and it is helpffull to the customers and many are attracting because its a government company and the cost is bit high comparing to the other priate limited companies . my father is from puttur bussiness center their service is good gathering many peopleand inccome is also good . the claim settlements are not good it takes more time all u need is patience but u will defenetly get the calim money .andd the commission is also less than others . but people are bealiving it so its going good and they want to speed up their service .

Please be aware of the Oriental Insurance Mediclaim Prospectus, which is put up on the website. This changes to their wim and fancy. However, I must add that I am a victim of the Mediclaim not being settled in full, nor I have got any huge relief. I request all Mediclaim Policy Holders to read the Prospectus and wherein you will observe, that you are being cheated and looted for the Premiums you paid all these years. Please note, these changes have come up now, and it is changing day by day becuz of the gross negligence of the Managements. The Mediclaim Policy Holders are not being paid for their mediclaims.

I have taken Health insurance with Oriental Insurance.I pay an premium amount of 25-30,000 by cheque.I have been holding the policy for last 20 years .I am happy that they had covered 100% cashless treatment. They have additionally 10% charges.

Around 2 years ago , I have got the health insurance policy from the ORIENTAL INSURANCE. This policy covers 4 members in my family. This policy has the medical coverage amount up to 2 lakhs. The customer support service and the response is better with the ORIENTAL HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY.
