A Healthy Kind of Beauty

A Healthy Kind of Beauty | HealthSoul

Beauty.

It’s everywhere.

One could say that finding beauty has never been easier, especially online. One-click, one swipe, one look and you’ll find beauty in all its forms, in various shapes and sizes, all ready to be consumed and aspired to. One sample is Kryz Uy’s blog wholly dedicated to the craft of making oneself even more beautiful with Korean products (you can check them out here: https://www.kryzuy.com/best-non-comedogenic-concealer).

It is something everyone wants to achieve, one way or another, and the journey towards it can get a little tough sometimes. We try so many different things in order to achieve it – all kinds of diets, different products and routines, new workouts and the latest fashion. Sometimes, our healthy interests’ crossover to unhealthy obsessions.

And it can really all go downhill from there. We try so hard to be beautiful that in the pursuit of beauty, we lost out on the one thing that’s supposed to be the “secret ingredient” of beauty.

Our health.

And not just in terms of our physical health, but our mental health as well.

Today, we’d like to dive into the right kind of beauty that we have to go for. Not just the surface or shallow kind of beauty that stands out easily, but the kind that affects one’s life as a whole – a truly healthy kind of beauty.

The Physical Side of Beauty

You would think this would be a no-brainer, but sometimes people forget this particular aspect of beauty. 100%, your physical health affects your beauty in every possible and conceivable way. They are inseparable and we would even say synonymous with one another.

You can throw the best products and routines in the world your way, but if you don’t take care of your body, nothing will fix your beauty problems. If you truly want to look attractive, you’ve got to feel it. We have a few tips that you can, and should, stick to in order to stay beautiful and healthy.

Work It, Work It, Work Out!

The first is something you’re probably doing already, and if not you should change it immediately: Exercise. When beauty is a reflection of all the things we do and don’t do, exercise becomes a very distinct aspect of that reflection.

These days during a pandemic, motivating ourselves to move, especially if you’re stuck in a small confined space, can be quite difficult. But it’s something we have to get over if we want to truly shine. We have to find the energy and willpower to make the first move, take the first step, and take it day by day until your body starts getting used to regular exercise.

It doesn’t have to be in a (clean and safe) gym or through classes online via zoom. It can be a regular workout you found on YouTube, a regular jogging route, dancing with your switch or alone or with friends or anything that suits you. The key here is to find what works for you and stick to it again and again and again.

Consistency is key.

And if you find that, soon enough you’ll be forming your body into the shape you’ve always wanted it to achieve – the right way.

Mindful Meals to Mind Your Body

Working hand in hand with exercise is the need for you to find a proper and healthy diet. Aside from influencing and affecting your body’s shape, it also affects the quality of your skin as well. And that’s not even getting into how certain food can affect your mood and how you feel.

We’ve all been in a situation wherein we feel sluggish and not our best selves after an oily meal right?

And if you feel that more often than not, then you know something is very very wrong. Before you even reach that point, do the right thing and start eating right. Give your body the nutrients it deserves! Eat healthy and eat varied!

We don’t want you to look at eating and see it as a necessary act of survival, we still want you to enjoy it the right way. Leafy vegetables, nuts, fish, fruits, whole grains – just get your body what it needs in the best and most delicious possible way, and you’ll start seeing the results immediately.

Also, in addition to that: STAY HYDRATED.

We can’t stress how important it is to drink water regularly. This goes a long way not just for your beauty, but your general health as well!

Sleep Is For the Strong

Something we all take for granted is sleep.

We always think we can get away with barely enough and honestly, we can’t. Sure we’ll pull it off and survive for a day, maybe even two, but the long-term effects are real and can be very harmful. A few all-nighters later and your puffy eye with dark circles and dull tired skin will be begging for more hours of rest to really recharge and rejuvenate.

So this is pretty simple: Sleep.

You need it more than you expect, and if you want to truly shine, you’ll need some 8 hours of rest for that fresh glow.

Inside Reflects Outside

So you’ve taken care of the physical side, it’s time to turn towards your mental health.

An argument could be made that this aspect of your beauty, and even your life, could be more important than the physical side.

As touched upon earlier, things like social media give us access to all the beautiful parts and people of the world. But sometimes this can cause us to be overwhelmed, and worse to compare ourselves to others, and that can start you on a slippery path towards something horrible.

More often than not, you start feeling “less.”

We won’t pretend to know the solution to your problems, nor will we give cookie-cutter answers. Mental health is unique to the individual after all, and we respect that. What we will say though is that you’re not alone, and that you don’t need to feel like you are.

Reach out to family, or friends, or even professionals if you need to. Don’t be afraid of discovering what’s wrong, and working your way to a better place wherein you can address it. Sometimes, being strong means admitting you’re a little weak at the moment.

To care for yourself this way, can lead to you honestly becoming more beautiful.

So What’s Next?

Now that you know that beauty is a two-fold attack, the best thing you can do is to be aware and to take care of yourself in both aspects. Because when you do, you’ll reach new heights of beauty you’ve never reached before.

And that will be truly a sight to behold.
