He is vocal, hands-on, compassionate, and extremely thorough. He speaks in terms you understand, clear and productive. He covers all aspects of radiation treatment with concise details, so there are no questions left unanswered. As a cancer doctor, he makes certain you are well cared for in and out of his office. Most impressive, Dr. Voorhees recommended surgery for me rather than radiation and personally called a surgeon while we were still talking. What doctor in a specialized field directs a patient down another path? Dr. Voorhees is concerned about a patient's health and the best available treatment when there is a better alternative. His handling of my referral to a surgeon relieved me of worry. His office also set up an overdue mammogram for me at his request, which relieved me from another worry. His only concern was to lighten my load, ensure my entire health was addressed, and connect me with superior medical care once I left his office. As a 73-year-old female with lung cancer, he is a godsend to my well-being and longevity. Dr. Voorhees has a trained staff that is equally devoted to patient care. By the time I left his office, I was sad that all my doctors were not as attentive and dedicated to my needs. I felt so cared for and at peace with Dr. Voorhees and his staff. Five stars are inadequate to leave in this review. Even 100 stars would not be enough. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Voorhees and his staff. Please, DO NOT hesitate to call his office for an appointment.
