Kratom or Mitragyna Speciosa is an herb native to the regions of Southeast Asian countries like Thailand, Malaysia, and Papua New Guinea. It grows naturally in the marshy regions and can grow up to be around 100 feet tall.
Kratom’s strength comes from its leaves that carry several alkaloids that render its myriad therapeutic properties. The health benefits of kratom are discussed later in the post.
While this herb’s earliest usage is largely unknown; the practice is thought to be ancient. Some accounts traced its usage back to the early 1900s; though it could be way older than that. Kratom’s popularity grew in the US with the onset of the 21st century. Today you can buy it in multiple forms from stores like Kratom Crazy.
There’s not much to how you can get kratom into your system. It’s pretty simple to consume/ingest. Some of the most popular ways in which users consume it are
Largely, kratom is divided into three main types: Green, White, and Red Vein Kratom.
Kratom is thought to be mildly addictive. It could be because the herb interacts with the same receptors in the brain as opioids.
However, if you consume kratom infrequently in small doses; it is impossible to build tolerance and dependency over it.
Kratom is an herb that comes with a need to exercise a lot of precautions. For one thing, you need to be mindful of the dose.
For another, you have to weigh all the pros and cons of consuming it. The user must know exactly why he is consuming it.
If you’re careful about these factors and do not consume it regularly; you should not fear to become addicted to it.
Kratom has been banned in many countries such as New Zealand, Australia, and many parts of Europe. Even the native countries have banned it.
However, in the US it’s legal for the most part. A few states, however, may not allow kratom distribution and usage. Even in some states where it is legal; some counties may not allow it. To that end, kratom’s legality status is always in flux in the US. You can refer to this page for more information.
Therefore, do check with your country, state and county law before buying and using it.
